These five people...

...are not only incredibly talented actors.

The are incredibly talented actors, with one heck of a work ethic AND...they are people I'm proud to have as friends.

Yes, all casts are a family. Some are partially dysfunctional, some are just Bat dung, off the charts dysfunctional.

Then there's the cast type family that just seems to meld together every time they get together for a rehearsal...that's what these guys are!

It is the first time since 2018 I have worked with a cast of adult actors that are truly adults.

As cliché as it might sound, they have taken personal ownership of the characters they are portraying; and since they are playing real people (a couple of those real people they have met) they have worked even harder at being true to those people, while at the same time putting their own personal stamp on the character they are playing.

To their credit, they appreciate looking at the Vietnam war from a different perspective.

To quote one teary eyed cast member (her step father a Vietnam vet), "I grew up hating my step dad, but now...? Now I get it. I really get it."

The reading of BACK IN THE WORLD is on Wednesday evening, Oct. 19 - 6:00-7:30pm at the Heritage Senior Center, 300 South Racetrack Rd, Henderson, NV 89015.

Though specifically being read for Vietnam Vet organizations in Las Vegas and Henderson, NV...EVERYONE is invited and admission is free!

If other families of Vietnam vets, if the Vietnam him/her self comes away with a better understanding...or less angry, because of the story that is told in BACK IN THE WORLD...the the cast and myself as the playwright have done our jobs.

Because it's about time there be a story about surviving the Vietnam war, AND after the war...that has a happy ending.

A public thank you to this wonderful cast...a thank you to you, for reading my blog!
